Antivirus for Windows Server Based Businesses

For a business that has computers tied into a server we recommend Symantec Endpoint Protection.  Endpoint protection comes in many different versions and can be very confusing to pick out the right one.  We recommend that you allow us choose the right version for you.

Antivirus for Windows Home or Home/Small Business

nortonThe two products we recommend for home or for a small business are Norton’s Antivirus and Norton’s Internet Security.  If you have a computer that is behind a router or on a trusted network Norton’s Antivirus should be fine.  If on the other hand you have a laptop and/or connect to public internet connections then you should get the added protection of Norton’s Internet Security.

Is Antivirus software a 100% sure thing for protection?

No, unfortunately it can’t protect you from everything.  There are other ways that you computer can get infected.  Most of the time viruses involve tricking the user into bypassing the antivirus software.  Most of these tricks happen while surfing the internet or checking email.  It is also very important to keep up with operating system updates to stay safe.

What about free antivirus?

You get what you pay for.  Although they do block viruses they usually don’t do as good of job that a paid version can do, but if you have no other option it is better than running no antivirus at all.
